Music and dance have always been joyful expressions for Sonari and a preferred way to reach out and feel connected to the world.

By the time he was 11yrs old, Sonari had travelled to 12 countries on 4 continents so it is no surprise that he developed an appreciation for different genres of music and dance, enriching his own expression as an artist.

At age seven, Sonari was cast as Anthony Mackie’s son in the feature film “Ascension Day”, with a star-studded cast including Ving Rhames, Beverly Todd and John Amos. Unwilling to be a stage mom, his mother insisted he take a break from acting professionally and simply do school and community plays but by age 9, Sonari was the on-air Youth Reporter for the KPFK 90.7 FM Mid-Day News and by age 11 had landed a Kmart/NBC Universal promo. This was quickly followed by a music video for Grammy award winning R&B artist Avant’s “Kiss Goodbye” as well as national commercials for Chrysler (directed by academy award winner Adrian Brody) and AT&T.

Sonari’s work on network television includes roles on “The Mindy Project”, “Wendell and Vinnie”, as well as voiceover/looping work on two episodes of Law and Order SVU. Sonari took a summer course in digital film making at UCLA, where he produced, co-wrote and starred in “Perspectives” a short film.

Now 14 years old and a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo, being part of Bittersweet & the Boys is amazing because it is a shared experience with other passionate young artists whom Sonari genuinely likes, admires and is inspired by!
